Blue Stockings
By Jessica Swale
Director: Collette Rutherford
Hallberg Theatre
Clayes Performing Arts Center
Jessica Swale's “Blue Stockings” is the empowering story of four young women fighting for their right to a university education – and fighting against sexism – in 19th century England. First produced professionally at London’s Shakespeare's Globe in 2013 to sell-out success, “Blue Stockings” recalls a historical struggle for women that resonates today.
