Join Orange County humanitarian organizations and visual and performing artists for a day of art, advocacy, & action at Soka University's Human Rights Day, Art As Activism.
Our event’s theme this year is “Art as Activism” and it will be held Saturday afternoon, December 10th, presented in partnership with Soka University of America's Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Human Rights. In addition, there will be a smaller satellite event that evening at the Laguna Beach Cultural Arts Center. The main event will host nonprofit humanitarian organizations from around Southern California to showcase their work and how to get involved. We will have performing and visual artists exhibiting pieces and collections raising awareness for human rights issues. Participants, moved by the art, can turn to the organizations around them to enact change.
Special presentations include the Human Rights Special Interest Group on art donated to the United Nations from member countries around the world, and internationally renowned artist/activist Sheinina Lolita Raj of INTERCULTURAL.
