Art & Jazz shines a light on their extraordinary musical careers. Included are a few of their timeless music performances with special guest stars Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Williams.  You’ll recognize their hit songs; April in Paris, One O'Clock Jump, A-Train, and more! Duke Ellington and Count Basie provided a unique style of music with an air of class and sophistication unlike any other bands of the day. Their music still endures through time! Duke Ellington and Count Basie were the backbone of the Harlem Renaissance in the 1920s and 30s.

This was a time when African American music and culture flourished in concert with the beginning of jazz music. On exhibit throughout the program, is the amazing jazz artwork of Everett Spruill from Orlando Florida. His jazz and blues series of paintings fit perfectly with the music of Ellington and Basie.
