Marlo Bartels, 2017

Paleontological (Site 6) by Marlo Bartels are two sided sculptures – one on each side of the street. The sculptures are bus stop benches that were made with crushed shell. The Brea area was once underwater and it reminds people of that past, and can still be found in the soil around there. So, Marlo created these extra large shells, one is 11 feet and the other is about the same size. They are a large depiction of a trumpet shell and a turban shell.  The sculpture is part of a 3/4 mile park part of Blackstone Homes.

Paleontological (Site 6) was sponsored by Blackstone Homes, Inc.
