Art in Public Places
This was Wyland’s first life-size bronze sculpture of a female dolphin and her calf. Dolphins, like humans, rely considerably on body contact for communication. Mothers and calves such as this pair created in bronze are often in close contact for long periods of time. Wyland observed “Dolphins are very affectionate.”
