The Love that Binds Jose Rude Calderon and Roberto Delgado, 2016 Artists Jose Rude Calderon and Roberto Delgado said they were inspired to create this sculptural bench by the love story between Mr. Norman Powell (the patron for this project) and his beautiful departed wife Armena, as well as the concept of universal love. The beauty of the site, ancient and modern history of the region, the fauna and flora and the geological features of the cliffs and bay were also a moving factor for our inspiration.

Tidepool Paddleboard

Tidepool Paddleboard Larry Gill and Gavin Heath, 2012 This piece was a collaboration created by two local artists, glass blower Gavin Heath, and metal sculptor Larry Gill. The bench features stainless steel and concrete with colorful cast glass inlays that evoke tide pools, which are plentiful in Laguna Beach, including just below the park's cliffs. Funded through a donation by Beverly Kaye Artist Designed Bench

Trio Jorg Dubin, 2000 Heisler Park Funded through a donation by Triad Financial Corporation Artist Designed Bench Laguna Beach artist Jorg Dubin installed three seating areas embossed with images of pre-historic marine wildlife. Located on a beautiful site overlooking Divers Cove, it provides a place for visitors to enjoy the spectacular views. "I wanted the shape of the piece to be kind of organic, maybe with a sense that it tumbled around in the surf," Jorg said. He believes that if the area was explored, fossils surely could be found. Veteran's Monument & Plaza

Veteran's Monument & Plaza Richard Turner, 1999 Located within a 50 foot diameter plaza, the bronze bas-relief monument represents the everyday aspects of wartime military service. It presents a chronology of both men and women who served the various branches of the armed forces from WWI to the Gulf War. The monument encircles the upper portion of a concrete column which has the appearance of being formed of sedimentary layers which reference geological time. The Plaza suggests the complexity of the passage of time with a labyrinth paving design. Two fountains and four benches are located on opposite sides of the monument at the perimeter of the plaza. The design of the fountains takes its cue from the classical Indian "chadar", with water flowing over slanting planes on which the war years are written in high relief. The fountains provide a ritual cleansing of war years. The four concrete benches that flank the fountains have the four quarters of the twentieth century with each period of the war years inscribed in boldface numbers. A formal entry to the monument is provided by a descending path under the shade of an allee of Crepe Myrtle trees that begins with the City's historic flagpole. The international symbol of peace - a specimen of an olive tree - is used to terminate the plaza. The monument and plaza create a serene garden that offers a sanctuary and contemplative space sought by veterans.
