Award Winning, 1997 - - Floating Lady

Floating Lady

Tony Delap, 1974-78

The Floating Lady, by artist Tony Delap, is a long plywood beam that would seem to be defying gravity except for the two clearly visible Plexiglas brackets supporting it at both ends. It is representative of a group of works that focus on a particular sculptural “trick” –how to liberate an object’s sense of mass.

The Architecture Foundation of Orange County recognized Artist Tony Delap with the 1997 Art in Public Places Award.
