Celebration Garden columns- “what a difference a decade makes”

A number of local artists, 1997

The Celebration Garden columns, beginning with 1997, were created by a number of local artists. Each column bears a plate describing the theme for that particular year and the names of the artists who designed and completed the artwork for the column. The design of each column vividly depicts the yearly theme, and these public art pieces are designed with a mixture of media, broken ceramic tile, formed ceramic tile, acrylic castings, copper clad castings, clay fake stones created by local children specifying characters defined by the Mission Viejo Character Committee, oil painted murals on stone tile, found objects, and American Indian symbols created with beads and stones.
