Character Garden Trailhead and Mosaic History Wall: “cultivating a community character”

The Character Garden Trailhead was created in 2004 with the help of several hundred volunteers who painstakingly placed 1000’s of small pieces of tile to create 14 pictorial images of Mission Viejo’s History beginning from the prehistoric times to the incorporation of the city.

The Character Garden Trailhead is designed with 3 separate spaces. The Character Garden has 12 unique words. These Community Character words are the “backbone” of the Community and are imprinted into the backbone shaped concrete. The Garden culminates with the Character Rock Fountain. The Trailhead also has a dry stream bed with beautifully painted butterflies.
