Exchanger Fountain

Buster Simpson, 1993

Original East Anaheim boundary was marked by willow trees whose appetite for water imperiled the colony’s water supply. Water runoff from fountain falls into a tree well where a willow tree is planted. Water to the fountain is brought up along a spiraling copper pipe which is naturally cooled by the evaporation of the runoff water. Water runoff falls into the tree well to nourish the tree. A willow post measuring 3″ in diameter was taken from Santa Ana
