Growing City

Dog & Pony in collaboration with Portola High School, 2019

Growing City is a sculpture by art-design collective Dog & Pony who collaborated with two classes at Portola High School in the creation of this piece for Great Park’s Art Walk. Students worked in small groups to envision a theme that would best represent their community. Based on the winning theme, these same groups then worked together on proposals for artworks that would become part of the Art Walk alongside artwork by community – selected professional artists. Growing City is a vision of this neighborhood as lotus flower with a blooming urban landscape within it.
