Nursery Planters
Buster Simpson, around 1993 or 1995 according to artist
Nursery Planters by Buster Simpson celebrate Anaheim’s agricultural heritage.
Anaheim was founded as an agricultural community. Grapes were the first major crop, though a blight in the 1890s forced farmers to plant walnuts, chili peppers, apricots, sugar beets, lemons, and eventually oranges. Their familiar form, often seen in nurseries, and landscaping projects are given a more finished look. They are a reminder of a constantly changing landscape.
