Of Two Lineages
James Dinh, 2017
This 17-foot painted steel sculpture has 100 facets and is in the shape of a cylinder. It is surrounded by a square plaza with concrete benches. The benches feature photographs of the faces of 100 Vietnamese-Americans.
James Dinh, the artist said, it is “to represent the 100 children of the Vietnamese origin story, and to resemble a paper lantern or the trunk of a bamboo tree.”
