Gibbs Park

Gibbs Park

Norma Gibbs Park is located in Huntington Beach and is a neighborhood City park open to the public at all times.

The restoration of Norma Brandel Gibbs Butterfly Park began in 2008, with the removal of 179 dead and dying Eucalyptus trees. Flower beds were added to the North and South walls. The monarch butterfly had not been around the park for 10 years. Milkweed, the only food source for the monarch caterpillar, was added to the beds along with many different nectar flowers.

Oct 23, 2013, over 200 migrating butterflies stayed with us till December 15th. During the spring and summer months, we have many different butterflies besides the monarch inhabiting the park.

We added 8 educational life cycle circle tiles and restored the original mosaic. We now have an educational program and give tours to groups. For more information visit our website www.HBTrees.org.
