St. Joseph Day Returns to Mission San Juan Capistrano

Mission San Juan Capistrano is proud to return to the celebration of St. Joseph Day on March 19 in conjunction with the Return of the Swallows celebration.

This tradition was started by Father O’Sullivan in the 1920s at this historic California landmark and home of the swallows.

9 a.m.-3 p.m. Festivities will include:

• Ringing of the historic bells
• Live Mariachi music
• Community presentations
• Native American Storytelling
• Mission Basilica School performances
• Flamenco dance performance
• History of St. Joseph’s Day and Swallows Legend
• Craft Station for Kids
• Interpretive Station Tours
• Coloring Pages
• Complimentary Garden Tours and more!

Admission Info

Pricing:

$17 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $12 for children. Mission Preservation Society Members receive free admission and can reserve in advance.

Festivities take place between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  After 3:00 pm, tickets revert to regular general admission pricing.
